I'd imagine an arapaima would last 1-1.5 years in this tank. I seriously thought about getting one then eating it when it outgrew the tank. Li and I talked of a MFK BBQ!
Anyway, down to the basement I go. The next hour will involve making sure the plumbing is rock solid, then the tank will be filled. I'll keep you guys posted.

Just an update. The assemly went well, or so I thought. I filled the tank up and everything seemed kosher. I flip the switch only to find my union between the 2 sumps is leaking terribly. After leaking a fair amount of water onto the floor, I pulled the plug, cleaned up my mess, and drained the sumps. Tomorrow, I've got to try and seperate the two again and piece together a smaller union. I guess I can't be too upset, as something was bound to happen. Sigh....until tomorrow, this is TG signing off.

Well I got up early (11:45AM) and went to Home Depot to replace what needed replacing. I think I got it right this time around. I'm going to give it another go either late tonight or tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck! The good news is, none of the actual tubing was leaking. Just the union between the 2 sumps. Thank God it wasn't worse, but I'll talk more when its plumbed and running.
BTW, quick question. Do I need to mount the pump to anything? Right now its kind of sitting on the side. I'm assuming it needs to be secured?
