I'VE RUINED MY LAST FILTER!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just put a prefilter sponge on the intake tube and you will stop your problem.

I know this is a picture of a complete wet/dry but you can buy just the sponge that you see on the right.

Well I guess I should say thank you for all the suggestions of the wet/dry when I cant put one in at this time. I'm hoping we are moving soon...and then trust me...I will have a HUGE TANK and a wet/dry. For the mean time...I guess I could put the gravel in since nobody said I couldnt. Brent...is that the small pebble kind?

i think they call it river sand??

Is it bigger grains so if I put a sponge over the intake it will get caught? The stuff I got now is very fine.

bigger grains wont get kicked up but also not to big to where the rays can't blow in it
i love when they blow in the sand

Im sorry I dont understand... there is gravel & sand ...where did art rock come from? I know there is coated rocks , but the coating WILL fail & create cuts all over the rays bellies.. Sand almost always gets into filters & gravel almost never does..because if it did it would kill your pumps.. they are both great but if you want to put plastic coated rocks into your tank you will learn first hand that rock will always beat plastic..

A sump system rocks! however there are other options. Some canisters can be great too, i.e. the fluval has all the water going through the filters before reaching the impeller.
