JÄGER aquarium heater

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
has any one see the manuel on this? I am very sure on the heater there is a

Min water leve line

Do not immerse beyond this line

Well this is weird. According to the manual, you are right. It does say not to submerge below that line. I had mine completely underwater for a couple years with no problems.
I always thought that "submersible" meant that it could be "submerged".

Ya, so I thought i bring it up with mfk members.. this is messed up, I wanted to get one so i can put it in my sump, i have large dats and arowana, i dont know if this heater is going to be able to take the impact if the fish gets excited.

Ahh, what should i do now?

dont worry about it, they can be submerged completely. i read that too when i bought my first and asked the shop where they used them too (completely submerged). the owner told me not to worry and so im using one for years now, completely submerged. they are superb heaters which deffo can be used under water.

I got this new heater.. the box says submersible, but the heater itself says there is a line on the top of the heater, says do not immerse beyond this line..

So is this heater fully submersible or what?

Actually they are fully submersible. Eheim bought them out and moved the factory from california to Germany. Since the factory is in a new location they have to get a new UL rating.

They are the same design but until they are UL approved they have to put a maximum water level on there product as a sort of disclaimer.

This info came from an Eheim represenitive. I called and talked to them after having the same confusion.

Hope this helps fellas!

If that helps any: In the German version of the manual they call it the line for minimum water level ... and on both (US and German) websites it says heaters are fully submersible/immersible.

If koliveira got his info from a rep, then that's the way it is.

Feel free to contact Eheim by e-mail using their webaddress, if you want to be on the very safe side.

i had two 250 watt ones that i immediately fully submerged my aquariums without thinking. they both stopped heating up but the light was always on. then i read the manual and it talked about the minimum water line thing.

i threw both away recently.

i have had 2 in tank compleatly under for a while now with no problems ... Jager in the past has had problems ... this was way back ..maby they r still having the same
