I've been shopping for a UV and see the Jabao 36 watt on Amazon for basically free. The reviews are all great too. I'm hesitant because my priority is to kill the bad guys that could be introduced into my setup. Clarifying is important but not my priority. I'd plan on running it with an empty FX 5 on my 640 gallon setup. Does anyone have any experience with these? Do they sterilize not just clarify?

You get what you pay for.

I happened to order one yesterday because the 9w one in my sunsun canister crapped out. I will let you know how the quality is.

i use a 36w jebao UV for my jaccuzzi pond. water went from kryptonite green to crystal clear under a week. it was on for 8hrs a day after water is cleared and water continued to be clear. the powersupply gets hot though.

Should be here tomorrow hopefully.

Came in today. Overall quality seems solid but it has the feel of cheap plastic. I plumbed it up into a return line on my sunsun 304b. No leaks, o-rings seem to seal fine and they give you a spare o-ring.

I have a bacterial bloom going on due to my 2 big cichlids mating and rearranging all the substrate. Fired up at 4:30 p.m. I took a pic and will compare same time tomorrow.

Cool. Anxious to see how it works.
