my jacks successfully spawned and had a bunch. i took at least half of them and put them in one of those baby cages ( for fry and or injured fish), and kept them in the same conditions in the same tank. I fed flake food and kept them near a filter, so i know they had some circulation. They lived for about two weeks. What happened?
ps. are red lava rocks bad for the tank?

how are the fry thats still with their parents? i have heard that those fry baskets are only good to keep live bearing fish in... although i have never used them so couldnt really tell u. i have been feeding my jd fry hikari first bites. they seem to love this. unless the parents are eating the fry or there are other fish in their tank its best to just leave them with their parents untill they get about 2". then u must remove them. if the fry still with the parents are okay id say toss that basket! good luck and congrats!
