jack dempsey 55 G tank

well im setting up a new tank for my jack dempsey

the tank is a 55 gallon not really doin anything special just felt like sharing some pics

ill be posting more pics as soon as i get home and go into more detail about the tank

here are some more pics the stand and hood are both homemade, theres nothing in the tank right now because im trying to find some rocks that i like but when its done there will be more pics

filtration im using a rena xp2 canister filter, only mechanical and bio media for the bio media im useing lava rock

lighting is standard

not heater yet water is heated by lights for now

one powerhead for water movment and air

60 to 65 pounds of gravel from lowes rinsed very well, each 5 pounds wasboiled for about 20 mins to clean a little more and kill any unwanted pest

water levels are in check and where they need to be for starting up

tank has been running about 1 weeked and 5 more to go, lol

thx, ya hes only 3.5" so this will be a big change from his small 20 to this 55
