how bid did you say they were....its going to be awhile...its not going to happen overnight unless you get lucky and they were like adults already....if they are babies you will have to wait til' they are like 5-6"....they grow approx. 1" per month if you maintain their water quality and if they are housed in a large enough tank

in a 75, I'd start out with 6 or so JDs. keep them for a while, till they grow out a bit and pair up. if you get more than one pair, naturally keep the one you like best (I'd choose the pair with the biggest/most dominant male).

I have bred jd's in the past and they started to spawn at the 3" to 4" mark. I have also noticed that there growth rates really slow down once they begin to breed.

well i guess they have found their pecking order now which is what i was thinking was pairing they are in a pack now....i could only get 5 so hopefully that works out...man you can almost watch these buggers grow....

Thats good that you could get at least 5 in there so they could grow together and then pair up......you will see when that happens when they are around 3-5 inches.........and yes, get the silver dollars now so they will grow as well and keep the aggressiveness in check.
