Nothing wrong with beefheart. Ive used it for many many years and have never had any health issues associated with it.

Good for you, But im sure you've never done an autopsy on your fish and seen the fat degeneration on the liver and other organs. Carnivores wouldnt have much of a problem with this diet, But omnivores will certainly run into digestion issues. Dont get me wrong, A feeding of beef heart once a month for a nice protein snack isnt going to cause harm, But a steady supply will definatly cause damage in the long run.
Do 5 minutes of research and you will see, Everyone agrees with me. Omnivores dont digest mammalian meat properly, Nature hasnt designed them to.
Thats all, Its your choice what to feed your fish. I prefer my fish to thrive, No just survive.

I dont blame her. More humane to dry up on the floor than suffer from the internal organ damage from the garbage diet shes was on. Beefheart and unquarentined live feeders.

Instead of spending $50 on feeders, Spend $7 on a bag of high quality pellets and your fish will be at much happier and stop trying to commit suicide.

Feed pellets and other foods designed for fish to eat twice a day, Not mammalian meat twice a week, Im sure the liver and kidneys are already hurting from the lack of vegatables and high levels of protein they are incapable of digesting.

woah... thats a bit harsh dont u think lol. I doubt fish are capable of 'commiting suicide' and I doubt there's "high quality pellets" available in their natural enviroment.

either way thanks, I'll take ur advice and switch their diet

reg, if you want to fatten him up a bit, I used to feed my dempsey's big fat nightcrawlers. It was a favorite for them.
