They may have had the wrigglers stashed somewhere and you didn't see them until they went free-swimming. At that point there shouldn't be any reason not to move them. You can leave them with the parents, but they will continue to guard them which could lead to aggression toward your other fish, and the other fish will slowly pick the fry off as food. If you want to try your hand at raising them, moving them is your best option.
