You can use clove oil, or if you need to do it quickly, take the fish out quikcly, bash the top head and then decapitate. That last method is approved by the American Vetrinary Medical Association for euthanization.
I ended up putting my male dempsey down. But now my female has white stringy poop. And looks raw around her belly. She is still in my main tank. I don't know what to treat her with because nothing worked for my other fish. I am setting up hospital tank now
Hello kinda new to the ciclid life.i have alot of concerns with all 6 rescues, but my main one I can't find any solutions for is the biggerof the two dempsey has a bloated look to him, he generally spends ttime chilling at the bottom, it still will show aggression when annoyed by others, had bumps on tailfins, had no color to them beside his usual body color, and fins just shredded looking. The bumps have started to heal I belive and fins, but the stomach hasn't changed . Medicine so far gave are among ,metroplex, ick cure, meleflex, general cure, fin and gill roat, and white spspot tretament. Like siad they came with multiple issues. Been long road. I've separated into own bins and treated, I just tried pea idea. What else. BTW I tested water, everything's good, temp is 78 I belive its about 5yrs old...
It's body looks a little deformed probably was born that way. I would feed lightly or every other day and hopefully things improve.
