The family!, the parents arent very colourful right now, they are still babies themselves lol, how old do you think they are at around 4 1/2"?

female about 10-12 months and the male about 6 months, starting from 1"


my 8" male jd has decided he doesn't like his 6" female anymore, he chases her around the tank constantly. prior to that, they did a LOT of fighting to determine who was boss in this splitup, but the male clearly maintained a brute-strength advantage, pushing the female into aquarium decor in these jawlocks

And at what age do they colour up lots? or are all of the photos on the net taken with a flash? lol

when of similar size, its normal for the female to be the dominant of the pair; shes more mature.

females remain relatively dull and lackluster, males look great from roughly 5" on

my j.d's just laid eggs 2 days ago on the back wall of my tank right under the filter should i shut it off so they dont get sucked up into it when they hatch? any info on caring for the fry would be awsome you can pm me with info if u want thanks
