I have 2 JDs. The big one looks like a male and the smaler one looks like a female. the 2 have locked lips and are in combat mode.

Do you folks think it is male & female of 2 males? If it is m & f, this fighting is it a form of mating or will I have to seperate them to keep them from injury?

Thanks

I hope I posted in the right area

Looks like F and M ... Also looks like they are super stressed out...make sure you have enough hiding places for them

Have they paired or still swimming separate? They will tell you if the are 'mate fighting' or trying to kill each other

But make sure they have somewhere to hide...all mine does is hide in her cave.

You could always divide them if you need too.

One way to figure out is are they together when the light is turned off. Mine never seemed to be together unless it was dark in the tank until they mated now together all the time!!!
Good luck
