generally we would introduce the Male to the female's tank, but in this case because JDs are not known for "spousal abuse", you should probably add HER to his tank instead. As long as she is with other fish, this would be best. Cichlids won't even tolerate dithers or bottomfeeders usually when they are spawning

Ty and that would be the plan. I know it's on a different scale with jds, but I've had my share of breeding cons I know all about breeding violence.

yea, if it were Parachromis or Amphilophus, I would NEVER introduce the female to the male's tank. He will usually not tolerate anyone in his territory. Neutral ground is best, but if you have to pick one, let the female keep her personal space. this is how we breed snakes and lizards and crocs too.....even if the female is larger, but it can vary a little w/ Crocs.

Alright frank I got her moved and the behavior looks hope full. The last time I tried they were nearly the same size, and I don't think she approved. Now let's hope this works.

good luck sexing an oscar till you seem them spawn.
Lol I was just wishing but hey they are about a foot long and inseparable before I could set the 130 up I separated them due to bio load into separate 55s and, they went off food. Got them I to the 130 all over each other and eating the next day

2 female oscars will get along great., I have a pair that lay about every 3 weeks, I still do not know for sure who is who, as I never see them spawn, its always at night. eggs get fertilized. so one of them is a male,

Ya that's about what I'm waiting for if they reach 2 years without any fertilized eggs I'll assume 2 females
