Go for it. Make sure to have a good amount of hiding spots and breaks in the line of sight, as in cramped quarters there is the risk of the pair getting aggressive with each other.
 
I think you'll be fine. While some fish like to roam a lot, in my experience, JDs tend to lurk around their favorite hide. This makes them a good choice for your tank. I agree with the others on using dark substrate and subdued lighting. They look like a nice healthy pair. With the right conditions, I'd bet they they'll be absolutely stunning.
