Jack dempsey sex?

I know I have asked this before, but the pics wern't that clear and this fish has completely changed color. More than likely due to the lighter sand than black gravel. Does this pic help anyone tell me what sex this is? It is currently in the tank with a gold male. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

I want to say female, but it's hard to tell from the pic. Don't take my word for it.

That is definitely a male. A female would have a lot of blue on the gill plate it would look like she has a blue beard. Definitely a male.

Ok, here is a pic from the same fish.

That's a female. The spangles go down the gill plate. The pic below is my male. You can see where his spangles stop just below the eye socket opposed to your fish where they go down a lot further on the gill plate.

Both of those pics are the same fish, just in different tanks. So now i'm really lost lol.

The pic where it's washed out some, it has spangles down below the gill plate, they just aren't noticable in the pic.

I know it's the same fish. If the spangles go down the gill plate it's female. I gave you a pic of my male to show you the difference. In the pic you have that you need to download, you can clearly see the barring that goes down the fishes body. That same pic shows the spangles going down the gill plate.
