lol hey i just got home today with some bala sharks as dithers never really liked them as any lil stopm will send them flying but i heard theyre good anyways as i was looking in the cave where my dempseys always are i found eggs!!!!!!!!!!!! this is a surprize to me! since i just got them not even a week ago more likely about 4days?? not just that but i mean theyre only about 2inches 1/2!!! will the male be fertile?? i wasnt expecting such a surprize so soon i mean they worked even faster than my old convict pairs lol.. ill try to take pics tonight:grinno: oh and i was told theyre blue jean dempseys vaery dark both and dark blue spangles..well anyone got any advise?? never bred dempseys before and i dont see them chasing off the balas around there territory
 
2 1/2" seems very small for breeding to me...normally i would say its not possible but as time has proven, i dont know everything. honestly, i dont think your male is fertile, unless he's super stunted (i trust you have better judgement than to unknowingly buy a stunted 2" fertile male, as they look very diff from juveniles)

since you didnt mention the size of your female, im assuming that she's larger than 2" and that she really wanted to spawn/breed and "jumped the gun" and laid eggs.
 
Congrats, I guess you'll see soon whether they truly are bg, I heard you have to feed them either nls or bbs in order for the ebjds to really color up. I'm sure someone else will have more info :) good luck
 
she is the same size as the male both max out 2 1/2 inches and they both look juvis to me male hasnt developed hes spagles just yet im sure theyre not stunted but i will take pictures later for all to see but the breeding ways are diff i mean theyre lip lock hip wipping her with tail is all normal the behavior they are having towards the eggs is whta i dont get hes not so protective like my cons where with there eggs but then again my cons where full grown 6in
 
No she passeed away when I got her the male:( that's why I got these lil guys hoping they grow old together

Dude congrats! Sounds lije you paired them perfectly . They are of breeding size are also should be fertile . The male might be a little inexperenced in fretilizing them but other then that you got nothing really to worry about. Contact jilliefish or dispatch273 they are great jd breeds

yea well at the lfs they where already chasing each other lol but yea just did i asked jill so im hoping for the best! lol and thanks!:)
