Jack dempsey vs Oscar

I hate my dumb jack dempsey it just beat the crap out of 1 of my two Oscars that i think its going to die and the other one might be next any suggestions. Tank is between 40 and 50 gallons.

Get a bigger tank. A 40-50 gallon tank isnt big enough for a single one of those fish, let alone 3 if they are over 3 or so inches...that and research fish next time before you buy them. A single oscar, when larger, will need a minimum of a 75 g tank and really, the same goes for a JD, even though some people keep them in 55g tanks. Bigger is always better.

If getting a bigger tank isnt an option for you, get rid of them all and get some smaller growing cichlids like convicts, sajica, honduran red points, salvini etc.

VRWC stole my response. He's right, you need a much larger tank to keep all of them together. If not the fights will intensify as they grow older and larger because of lack of space. Your next problem will be water quality if you continue to keep them in that tank. Best of luck to you and I hope that you can find a way to keep all of your fish together.

This is my dads tank, and i already told him this and he won't listen and now he want's to put a divider in the tank instead, which i think is even more dumb.

Yea, Dads are hard to convince they could be wrong about things sometimes.

The jack demspsey is around 8-10 inches and both oscars are around the same.
