A carpintis has been rumored to be a parent fish to the ebjd. The original breeder from Argentina had them in tanks with jd although they claim ebjd is a naturally occurring color morph of jd. I don't know about anyone else but I can definitely see it in some ebjd when they get the metallic blue gold and green color going on.

ive never seen these before there cool looking, i have a texas\jag cross

I gave you a big reply on why EBJDs are not hybrids but my browser is stupid and erased it all :c

The debate on ebjd is far from finished and it is likely it never will be. I love ebjd and don't care either way aside from my own curiosity. These fish should be treated as hybrids in my opinion, just to keep the jack dempsey species pure. I dont want to derail this thread my intention was to point out the possibility of jack x texas breeding. I have kept many ebjd so...

Back on topic I once had a Texas x dempsey cross when I first started out in fishkeeping. It was taller bodied like a tex with multiple colored pearls covering its entire body. It was by far the most aggressive fish I have ever kept. This thread really makes me want to breed some type of ebjd x Texas super hybrid ;)

I have to get a smaller texas I will add pics when I start
But it will be amazing
