Our "over inflated egos" are also known as love for the hobby. If your willing to just pollute the hobby with no remorse like that, ur the one with the ego. The amount of time and energy people put into breeding pure lines of fish can be so easily ruined by a single hybrid....
 
He's not worried about losing species, obviously. I think all he's worried about is finding a big kok

You really can argue what's worse hybridization in the hobby or wild collection. If everyone felt it was ok to hybridize their pure strains maybe it would turn into a mess. I won't dispute that- not in the CA section. Here's a little query I rarely see...
What if everyone felt they needed an F1?

I'm done. These arguments do tend to get emotional and whiney before too long.
I did mention in my 1st reply about this being wrong section
 
The hobby has done a lot of good for wild type fish as it provides a wage for locals who are educated that preservation of species and habitat are a good investment.
Were not all after f1 fish anyway,just something true to form.
