So, tonight I was shopping at PetSmart, and my wife points out a solid black juvenile Jack Dempsey. I thought it was neat, because I have never seen a straight black Jack at 1.5". After getting it home, I've noticed that it does have some slight green coloration around the gills, but it also has red and yellow on the dorsal fin. Just a thin red line at the very top, and the body of the fin seems to be a yellow.
Again, this isn't anything that I've seen before. All of the Juvenile Jacks I've seen have been that tan with black and green spotting.
So, I hope my description was good enough, because I am as of right now, unable to post pics, but my question is, does anybody think that it could be something other than a Jack Dempsey?
It was kept in a tank with 3 Tiger Oscars, and 2 other Jacks.
