Jack Dempsey?

Hello, I am new to this site and is wondering if the fish I got is a Dempsey. I got him from Petsmart under the name Jack Dempsey but he doesn't look like one, I was thinking maybe he was a hybrid? But idk he seems healthy and isn't a picky eater, I feed him Omega One small Cichlid pellets and occasionally raw chopped up fish.

I dont know what it is, but its doesnt look like a JD at all
 
Another petsmart mystery fish. I have one myself. Grow it out you can get some really lookers that way.
 
Thanks, but he gets stripes when his colors darken and gets that red tip on the fins but faintly I forgot to say if that helps in anyway. I kinda started thinking he wasn't one because I also have another JD with the actual colorings and markings but just wanted to make sure.
