At what size does the bent back usually start becoming noticeable? My JD is only about 7" long and only about a year old.

I love jds. They have great petsonalites and very active . I like their colors also . All around very cool fish. This is my new pair that in fostering for a friend . They are quarentined in a 40 breeder at the moment .then will be put their 90.

Could someone post a pic of this "bent back"?

Google images of Jack Dempseys. I couldn't find any pictures of a full grown Jack that actually looked nice. I've kept them, and it doesn't take long to remember why I don't like them..lol Also I read a lot of people talking about ebjd which are totally different the regular Jack Dempseys.

I personally hate chichlids. I will admit they have some very nice colours, but I hate how they are everywhere. It bothers me when I go to a lfs and literary 1/4th of their selection is chichlids, seems like a waste of space. Or when you go to someones home and they claim to have an amazing fish tank, and when you see it its all chichlids. Boreing...

I dont intend to step on anyones toes here, its all personal preference.

let me guess, your a fan of tetras and neons, possibly mollys? Those are Boring Fish!

This is what hes talking about, as they age they no longer have that perfect torpedo shape they have a more bent torpedo shape. Not sure if its a genetic trait, stunting, less feeding, or something that comes about with age. Regardless its unappealing.
