Jack Dempsy Babies horror story

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you really want the babies to survive, take them out at night, at night they all huddle up together and it makes it real easy to suck them out. I put them all into a 10g and feed them frozen baby brine.

Trying something new and bought one of those square baby net things that float the top of the tank, going to throw all my babies in there instead of the 10g so its one less tank to maintain.

The Male died. Not sure why? might be old age. I think he was about 5 years old. I walked in and found my most prized fish on the bottom of the tank. I gave back the female to the petshop. Sad day. Now I have a flowerhorn in the 75G. Thanks for all your help. Sorry i couldnt make anything productive of this. Live and learn.

Sorry for your loss buddy. I'm surprised to here the male died. My male normally roughs the female up pretty good prior to laying eggs. I've raised three broods so far along with numerous broods of cons. The local stores love the free fish. Like others have said plecos and syno cats are egg and fry theives. If you do happen to try again try to atleast seperate the parents from the rest with a divider. If you have any questions feel free to pm me. Cons and keyhole cichlids are extremely easy to breed if you are set of breeding anything. - Preston
