The last pics you posted look to me like it was a case of acute Flexibactor columnaris.
Raising the temp seems to increase the virulence of the disease. It normally kills very quickly. In fact the bacteria population increases exponentially as temp rises.
First signs are often fuzzy growths around the mouth, but not always.
Fish hovers, stops eating and the jaw protrudes. I realize yours is gone, but watch for signs in other fish in the tank, keep temp down, and increase frequency of water changes and filter cleaning, as others recommended.
