Jag Advice

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have two jags but my water does not seem to be doing well. Ammonia is at 0 and also nitrites but I have no gravel in the tank and the water is cloudy, not white cloudy but more of a brown cloudy. anybody have ideas on how to fix this? any help would be taken, tanks.

55 is definantly enough for a full grown jag, 29 gallons is ok too for one jag.

WHOA!!!
HELL NO!!!!!

55 is possible, but a 29 is absolutely out of the question. you know they are well over foot long fish right?

good rule of thumb. your tank needs to be wider then your fish is long for a single fish. which means once your jag reaches around 12", a 55 not gonna work

no 55 for a jag. like liz said and most of the members thats been around here either seen or owned a full grown jag and in aquaria max size is 15-16 inches. 1 full grown needs 75 minimum and pair need 125 minimum.

Im hopefully going to get a 5ft x 2ft x 2ft soon
I think its around 150 gal, Think I could keep a
Jag there for life by itself?

Thanks

There is a debate about all this, but IMHO a 150g would be better then a 135, the difference is the 150 is 24" wide, and the 135g is 18" wide, but a foot longer...

IMHO, people don't give their fish nearly enough width in tanks... Id say that would be an alright tank, IMHO better then a 6' long tank.
