Yeah buddy... I have to time it just right not to get bit. He does that every single time I try to clean his tank... I do usually end up wet though..
I also have a 19"+ male dovii that has been picking up this habbit lately. Now that scares me.lol

Yea you gotta knock that off fast or you'll never be able to do tank maintenance. When the jag comes near your hand just give it a good smack. If you let them bite you it only gets worse. I've had Red Devils that I had to bonk on the head every time I put my hands in the tank. They'll eventually run from your hand.

The jag I had years ago did this. To counter him I just jerked my hand at him and he would back off. He bit me a few times and it got old quick. After he killed his female I sold him cuz he was a handful.

Yeah that is pretty much what my jag did but she wasn't showing any interest but as soon as it heard the gravel moved it darted from the other side of tank and got me lol
