How big is your tank? A 75 gallon is probably big enough. I think they would have similar temperment, so as long as they are about the same size, it should be OK. Just keep an eye on them and make sure one isnt beating up on the other.

You should be fine then. It might be a good idea to keep a divider handy in case the fighting starts getting out of hand. Most importantly make sure they are close to the same size!

i would agree with that suggestion.

and let me just say that you could always put any species of monster fish together in a tank, the real question is..... how long until one gets really beat up when they decide to kick the other's ass...i mean fins... or whatever :naughty:

I agree... I had fathead minnows in w/ my oscar that it could easily have eaten, but they stayed in its tank for several months. It just depends on the individual fish I guess!

In a tank that size there's a good chance the Jag will kill the JD when the Jag grows to a good size and commands the entire 90G. JDs are slow growers (8-9" MAX) and Jags grow to twice their length (14-18" - rare cases even up to 22").

It may work for now, but I'm betting the Jag will eventually want the entire tank to himself. A jag could rip a JD apart.
