Jag color & pattern change?

I noticed my 9' Jag started changing patterns if u look closely his bars towards the dorsal side are fading. He is my first Jag i ever owned if any experts have any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

I have a one but 5inches and looks about the same. I think hes fine but im new 2. He looks smaller then 9 inches. What size tank?? They get big

Im guesstemating 9 inches n it's a 125 g which he shares with a RD

Your Jag looks fantastic(considering it lives with a R.D.)it is a beautiful fish,do they squabble much?If so it could just be under a little stress.

THe pretty chill together he likes to chase the RD around sometimes nothing really crazy.

To answer your original color changing question, the change (dull, sharpen, brighten, even bloom) depending on their mood and what's going on in the tank. If you go into my profile you'll see a few coloration and pattern changes within the same Jaguar. He's always shifting colors and patterns.
