Jag Dempsey???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Those are all Jags, including yours, GreenTerra.

Your male Dempsey - GORGEOUS!!!!! They just don't come like that anymore

Greenterra - yours MIGHT be a Jag X hybrid, though. Definitely 1/2 or 3/4 Jag though.

I saw the parents of my fish, and have researched extensivly on freddies aswell.I have no questions with mine.

I'm not one to argue, but if you like it (as you should, and probably do) Great! Nothing else matters ;)

I just got home from work. I tried to sneak a look in the tank with a flashlight, but I couldn't see crap. I'll try to get some pics in the morning or early afternoon.

Thanks santoury, I love that Dempsey. He's definitely one of my very favorite fish.

wow. those are two of my favorite fish.

Usually dempseys have the dominant traits in hybrids.

this is a jag not a freddy...

Could be wrong, but from those pics. She looks like a Friedrichsthalii. She is very simmalar to my female. They often get sold as jags because lfs usually can't tell the difference as juvies. If she is a Freddy she will get yellower as she gets older.:)

The Jag and JD would be an interesting hybrid. Never heard of them before, so hopefully you can raise the babies and take some pictures of them too in the future. :D

OK, so my internet was down yesterday so I didn't get to update. I'm not sure what happened, but when I went to get pics the piece of slate that they had so meticulously cleared off and started spawning on had substrate spread all over it . Maybe I should have stayed away? I'm not sure, but either way there are no longer any eggs. They are still paired up and hiding behind some driftwood together. I'll let you guys know if anything else happens.
