Your male that once none of us could tell for sure is a male is looking great....since as you have said you don't want the male to pair with either of them l would remove both females at the same time.... leaving one in may jeopardize it to being seriously hurt....My opinion and experience with my male is that if feeling confident and behaving in an outgoing manner with or without a female his colors will fluctuate but at times still peak....

A while ago at the time of this pic (my favorite) the male had the tank to himself.....when they are by themselves is only way to truly keep them in mint condition.....

Thanks.... I may be right behind you in finding new homes for 3 out of my four.... They have all gone dark with their color in the last week.... The largest one is displaying more of the darker pattern... And two of the remaining three have gone solid brown / black and with the last one being mostly dark ...in my observations when Jags appear like that they are uneasy, wary,on the defense and trying to be on stealth mode .... I believe in this group I got 3 males and 1 female......
First two pics the biggest..
Next two pics I believe are.sub dominant males and they don't want any problems so they gone all brown/black....
Last shot possible female...

That is just my non scientific description of the phenomena that I am observing in my tanks and tanks that I've seen at local fish stores.... where a Jag that is clearly at the lower end of the pecking order, become a solid dark brown or black in order to in my interpretation not draw attention to itself from the more dominant fish....
