female, the spotting on the lower body and the gill plate on that fish is of somewhat non-existant. Males spotting will be all over the body and more prominent.
My 2" male jag already looks like a miniature adualt jag with all the spotting all over its body and gill plate/fins.
Either way that is a nice looking jag.

Is "she" likely to bully the plec all the time?..the plec is about 13" long but for some reason the jag is always having a go at it! Is the jag just establishing its dominance or will it always pick on it?

Sad that I checked it only today.
Anyway, I have 2 4" Jags and till this moment wasn't concerned to know what they really were. Now that you guys have got me interested, please put down the (most agreed upon) attributes that would help me identify mine.
