Jag pair breeding pics & ?'s about how to move eggs out.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well, I'm going to leave them in there for the night, I'm not sure which method I'll ultimately go with. Probably leave them in the tank, but I have a 20g standing by so I can take them out if I need to. It's empty, so I'll go with wckedmidas's advice if I take them out. I turned off the power head on that undergravel filter once I saw that they were laying eggs.

for me, il just simply remove the parents or if the location of the eggs are portable then you can remove it. if it is in the glass remove the parents and let the eggs hatch by themselves.

some guidelines when the eggs are left alone.

So all the fertile eggs have disappeared leaving the bad eggs. I'm assuming that means they've hatched, but the wigglers are nowhere to be found. The powerheads are off. Should I lift the undergravel filters up in case they are hiding below it?

what i did with my tank was waited for the eggs to hatch, than scooped them in a net put them in my 20 gallon in a fry net and just waited till there were big enough to be let free,

I haven't seen any wrigglers at all tho.

Trylooking underneath the tank to see if you can see them first, if you can't then the parents might have ate them for whatever reason.

^^ I agree look under the tank esp. if you have gravel/undergravel filter as they tend to wiggle down into the gravel/undergravel filter, but if they have done that most of them will prob. have been crushed and what made it under will be kinda hard to get to w/out killing some of them.

Alright I'll check it out. Most of the rocks have been cleared off from the undergravel filters by the parents so I should be able to prop it up without too much trouble.
