ive only had him for a week now so hes still kind of afraid of me. but i had to take out every single tankmate because he just owned from the start. i have a mob of crayfish in there to eat the poop and hell grab them buy there claw and throw them around the tank. never kills them though. and once he went almost half an hour straight attacking the glass. guess he saw his reflection. i love my fish

so can it live with my pleco? i have a baby one which is white and yellow-orange but i was going to sell him because he's really aggressive at only 3 inches. i havee a midevil, dovii and Jag but i can only keep one. i want something that other people will find attractive also. will take the midas into consideration ... i wanna fish that flares at you and follows you around the tank :)

for that either the dovi or midevil. my friends jag is very territorial and just stays in his area. where as my rd will swim all over the tank. he still doesnt follow me around because hes new and still shy around me but the guy i got it from had it ina 180g tank with jags and pacus(all bigger than him) and he dominated everybody. as soon as he saw any body step within a couple feet of the tank he would attack!

with midas you never know. tanks more than big enough but they might get so aggressive with one another that they might kill each other. more of a solo fish. if your looking for community go with the jag man

To be honest, both of them can be very cool. I have a 13-14" Male Jag and recently got a pair of 6" Dovii's. The Dovii's are moving to the top of my list fast as these two are very owner responsive even more than my Jag. I really think it's on the individual fish on how they act. I've heard of others keeping tankmates with both species, but there are so many other factors such as tank size, decor, size, etc. I would say that if your curious and have the space, get small guys/girls and watch them. You'll eventually come to a conclusion yourself. It's what floats your boat, not what others say.
