How do you sex a jag?

they also moved the eggs around quite often to different spots in the tank...i put some pvc pipe in there and they brought the eggs in the pipe then they moved them again back to the same spot....

yea man at least you know you have a pair :headbang2 From what ive heard if you disturb them too much they will either eat the eggs or not take care of them so when they lay eggs, dont disturb them for example walking by the tank more than you have to or water changes or anything like that...seems to be working for me :) GL with yours...

hey dude im pretty sure if the eggs turn white it means the male hasnt fertilised them. ive seen this happen a couple of times with my jags, sometimes the male doesnt manage to fertilise all of them and they turn white and dont hatch. maybe your male has some stage fright?? :naughty:

you can sprinkle some flakes, but nature will do its thing you wont need to wory about feeding them. when they get a lil bit biger try brine shrimp and cruched up flake.
it usualy take like 2 days be for you see wigglers, and then another 2 days or so then you see them kinda swimin around like a air plane with no wings the kinda just twirdle around.
when eggs turn white they are dead, and the brown color is good, you can tell that theyre fertilized becuase you start to see little black dots forming inside ofthe egg, and if time goes by (a few days) and theydont turn white then you're in good shape!.
female will kinda push the male around a little bit but should get to outta hand.
and last but not least to sex a jag is easy. female are lighter, smaller, less agressive, and have the dash marks going down there bodies, males are more colorfull and the dash maks that the female keep, break up on the males and spots start to show up through out they're body.
hope this helps evryone and good luck with you're babies
