  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hopefully it will retract.
even if it ends up like that (iv seen others on here that have) then he will still b able to eat just fine and live a normal life

You may need to remove other tankmates that may fit its mouth as a precaution. Well done removing the fish though.

He's still alive! But he hates me! I spotted him swimming around from the door but as soon as he saw me he hid. He's never done that before. I can't get a good look at the condition of his mouth.

I hope it retracts too. I think he will be OK.

The Jag is now the smallest tankmate. I don't know why but that acara just didn't grow. The next closest fish in size is the Tex.

Dude, well done!! I would of panicked and screamed like a small child!

As you can see he's looking good. Mouth has recovered and he's back to moving aggressively around the tank.

Thanks for all your help guys. MFKers are the best!

I've never seen anything like that either and I've been keeping fish most of my life. I have heard horror stories though of a rare expensive fish trying to eat another rare expensive fish of similar size and both dying.

The Australian Murray River Cod in notorious for it.
