I have a great opportunity to own a beautiful jaguar. The lady has the 8" female (not sure of sex really) in a 20 g temporarily. This fish is a glass banger, and I have only a 55 g that is without fish at the moment. I'm concerned about moving her/him from the 55 to a permanent 90+ because the transport is going to be long...2 hours or so. I'm expecting to get the larger tank within 2 days, but I have to pick up the jag tomorrow. How do ypu think this fish will do being moved 2 times within the same week?

I have moved fish around just make sure all your water is perfect and I think I think because he fish is still young you should have no problem

+1

Also temperature should be consistent to make sure no shock

If your unsure if it's cycled or not take a sample to your local lfs petsmart or any pet shop and they do a free reading to see if it's cycled.

I did this when I started my tank many years ago and I thought two weeks was sufficient but it wasn't granted I had all new media and not enough beneficial bacteria. What sped it up was I would toss in some food in my sump so it's like waste but many people actual goldfish to do this. This is debatable but I cycle tanks in one day now due to sponge filters. I had large sponge filters in my sump running so if I need to start a tank I would toss it in there. For example I had fry and started up my 10 gallon tank and threw in the sponge filter and an hour later toss in my fry. None died all thrived and I've been doing this method for a while now. I always keep a sponge filter in my tanks it might not look the best but it's one of the best filtration systems out there. Look at breeders they only use sponge filters even on their big tanks. Just a little added information for you.

looks like it will be a really nice male . 2 hours is not bad as long as you have air running through the bucket.

Thanks for the reply everyone. I have an acrylic 55 gallon with but in overflow filtration. The tank is mostly cycled-I put in old media from multiple other tanks I have:RTM tank, dovii tank and red devil tank, as well as substrate from the other tanks. I have Am. Ni & pH tests. One hour until home...hate the transport of these fish buy I don't trust anyone. Will update tonight
