Hi I just got a jag he is about 7inchs but he is really shy and he won't eat I've tried blood worms pellets and flakes I see him swimming around with the other fish also but when I come he runs and hide I gusse my question is is this normal for him being a new fish??? And will he get more aggressive and lest shy

Give him few days or a week then if he's a male you will see he start murdering his tank mates unless there are fishes bigger than him and bully him.
Lol a red devil, a dovii and a jag in one tank? All pretty decent sized? I see big problems arrising
I have a jag in with a gator gar, a juvi jag, and a JD. The problem you'll have is that the jag, the RD, and the dovii are all extremely territorial and aggresive.. Put one extreme aggressor with some other semi aggresive cichlids, in most cases you can get away with it in decent sized tank. Put 3 adolescent sized extremely aggresive fish in a 125 gallon - leaving roughly 30g to each fish - there will be problems. Dovii normally will not tolerate other tankmates. Jaguar may or may not. And the red devil/midevil is just a big bully.
