I think, as a society, we should learn that retail products should always be checked before usage. Don't assume they will work. Considering national/international manufacturers produce upward of 500 million of the same products, even with quality control they are bound to have defects. Would you buy a car without test driving it? Not a fair analogy, but basically the same concept. It's really not Jager's fault.

spot on!

I own a auto repair shop. People ask me why this or that went bad. I can't believe how many people I need to explain the concept of automated assembly line production to. People (not the OP of this thread) want everything hand made to the finest quality and standards UNTIL they find out it will cost an arm and a leg.

Have you read the the manual with the heater. The little knob on top of it is to adjust the heater. Yes jager are complicated.

marineland stealth nicest heater ive ever owned..... ive heard a lot of jager problems so there must be a reason for all the jager prob posts

Never used that brand but I had a Hydor brand that did the same thing to me...Luckily I had a Rena smart heater that alerted me that the temp was to high, that saved my fish. Now that is the only brand I use.

lol.....Yes! I did read the manual and did everything as instructed, TWICE! I have also read about other ppl having the same problem with this brand heater , after I had this problem. I also read the the jager company is under different ownership and the quality of the new heaters has went down. All the complaints that I read about this heater were in refrence to the new ones. I only read good things about the old style heater
