Trying the Jager Heaters for the first time and I'm really not impressed. First of all, how do you calibrate these things? I keep reading that you pull out a button, but where is this at on the heater? There is nothing on this heater to pull out. I've literally tried to pull on everything attached to the heater, but nothing works.

Someone help, please.

Im not sure i understand what you mean. There is no button. You set it to what you want it to be, give it a few days, check temp with a thermometer, and adjust the red ring with the pointer that's on the top of the heater to what you actual temp is. I think the instructions are pn the side of the box if you still have it.

Unless you have a different one im not aware of, or there's a new model.

read the instruction properly.

It says to push the red arrow to the current temperature.

i bought the new jager 300w. and i wasnt impress either. infact i was dissapointed. one worked for a few hours. the other one didnt even work. i was also confused about the button. i took everything apart to find the button or whatever. turns out the new ones has no button you can pull out. and the instruction says it has a button to pull up. i then realized the manual is the instructions for the old jager not the new ones. it was my first jager heater so i had no idea. decided to try them cuz of all the good reviews. and i read that the good jager heaters are the old ones not the new ones.

Here's the button.

Yeah, that's not the model that I have. Mine must be a newer model. And if there's no way to calibrate this one, then I'm really unimpressed with Jager. Temp is off by almost 10 degrees.

wow thats a bad experince for you.... ive always ran jager.... even when i was 5 years old i used those....been in fish for ever. i remember when they were green and called ebo jager....unbreakable (well kind of)
pyrex glass..

i just bought 2 of the 300w heaters(new ones) about a week ago. my temp is right on the money. you didnt have to calibrate it unless it needed it. but if its off from the factory then i guess you would need to but im sure there is quality checks that make sure its on point...

GL with the heaters...ive always had good experinces with jager heaters..

This is the eheim jager i have, not sure if its the new/old version. But the calibration is simple. I just turn the red arrow to the temperature.

I was really looking forward to it because of the good reviews I've read and the relatively low price. So when I found the temp to be so far off I just figured it needed to be calibrated. About drove me crazy trying to figure out how to do that, but I guess it's not possible.

I found these instructions in the operator manual

Recalibration
If, after a day or two in operation the setting scale does
not correspond to the water temperature, follow the
following procedure to recalibrate the heater:
Switch off the heater and unplug it from the mains
supply
Measure the water temperature with an accurate
thermometer
Turn indicator arrow (red) to
point to the measured temperature
Set the desired
tank temperature with the temperature selector ring

(blue) .

Hope this helps. Please be sure to use an accurate thermometer when recalibrating the heater.
