Actually they are very cheap feeders; as they are free.

True, but if you bought them. That's a good/cheap way to feed your fish!

Tank size is 90 gal. The male is at least 10 inches, the female is about 6. The male I purchased when he was about 7 inches and really beat up. The female I raised from about 1 inch. They are fed on a mix of pellets: AZOO 9 in 1, Hikari gold, and Hikari staple, along with frozen bloodworms as treats. They eat like pigs, and as I said in my initial post, they breed about once a month.

mine are going into a 75 as soon as i feel like setting it up .. they are in the 4-5" range so i might have a while before they start getting buzy

I do not have an extra tank to raise them in, so some go to my JD as feeders, and the rest are taken out by the parents when they are ready to breed again.

Mine are the same way, I start out with a cloud of free swimmers, by the time it's all said and done I have maybe 3 left till momma is starting to show her breading tube, then there are none.
This time I think I am going to pull out a handful of them and drop in to a tank to grow. That just cranks my handle the wrong way that they eat their young like that.
