Is this posible???? are they really aggressive or are they timid???

The best anwser I can give is some are very mean, and some are rather shy.
The ones that ive had would never back down from a fight and would ussually win. But that all depends on the tankmates

as in community with other cics??? if so, i have a pair (female jag is 5in. and the male is 9in.) in with 2 8in. O's and a 6in. severum...they tend to flare alot, but they hardly ever actually get into anything aside from that. so i'd say they are more territorial then belligerent...

Dieselmack brought home a bunch of jags male and female. He has about 12 or so in 1 tank, and seem to be doing fine. Shoot him a pm

They're over-rated on the aggression scale IMO. They're more territorial. They can be kept in a community setting if they have their own space.

However, some are psycho.

woul you say having a lot of fish in one tank would make things less hectic??? like sort of overstocking like you do with africans??

X2, i think people way overestimate these fishes aggression, and after they've kept them they see this.

LOL read my other thread... he is throwin my new texas a beating.... if he keeps it up he is going in the cage with my Heavyweight champ Trimac

I never got around to trying mine out in a community setting, I added the jag and a oscar to the tank at the same time and within a week I had to separate them because the jag was getting way to aggressive and was causing injury.

I might try adding pleco but I don't think he'll tolerate any tankmates. :(
