My Jags just laid eggs. I $**t load of eggs. :). This is the first time around with Jags for me.

I have to start researching on what I should do:nilly:. When and if I should pull out the male???

I have bred convicts which is basically a no brainer. I hope jags are that easy.

Sorry about the bad pic

congrats on the spawn. My female jag laid eggs last week on sunday, and they hatched on tuesday they were only in the egg for about 2 days and hatched. The fry just started swimming yesterday. Both male and female seem to be taking good care of the fry. I plan on putting the fry in a grow out tank in about another week or so.

Sweet!!!! I only see about 6-7 white(dead eggs) out of the bunch. So im wondering if the parents should be removed. As always im finding conflicting info. Some say to remove them. Some say that the parents do a fine job.

Im hoping for someone who has experience to guide me in this process.

This is my first experience with a spawning pair of fish, I found alot of conflicting info as well. I decided to take this as a learning experience and observe this time around, but as of now im not seeing any danger to the fry from the parents, and they seem to be doing a good job.

I wish you luck with your new additions.

Let us know about what you end up doing with the eggs / parents if you seperate them or not...Sweet Fish

Well a good majority of the eggs have turned white now :( I dont think they got it right this time. This would be their first spawn. Im not to sure if it worked out......Time will tell

All the eggs are white now. Looks like they were unsuccessful this time:(.
Hopefully they get it right the next time around.
