I've never heard that.

Mine started at 1" and are 1.5 years old and they are 9" maybe 10"

I would keep at least 2 in the 125 and the silver dollars would look nice with them.

the last top of the food chain article in TFH magazine was about sword-spine snook. brian scott said that the swordspine snook were exclusively freshwater but other snook needed some salt in their tanks. you would know more than me though. are they south american fish?

Yeah actually central american. But they're cichlids. And as far as I know pure freshwater.

I was just reading that article and thinking about you LOL

Mine eat like pigs and seem to be very heathly amd I don't know if they need salt but I'm going to look into it.

I strongly suggest a male jaguar than a snook. A full grown male that is feed high quality pellets/krills will even have a golden sheen to its scale and add a crazy attitude/flaring and ramming the glass is a sight to see.
I cant see a snook have the same great personality as a jaguar cichlid.

It won't a snook is way different than jag. If you want a large fish community go snook. If you want mean with personality and hatred go jag.
