i doubt you'll get a female to 20"...rare for a male to get that large. I'm not saying it's not possible but for a female I think 12-14" is probably about as big as it's going to get. So yeah, good plan to just keep one in the tank..I highly doubt 2 of them would be ok long term in that size tank.

the tank I'm getting I believe it was 4ft long 2 feet wide and 2 and a half feet tall.

a standard 90 gallon is 48" x 18" x 22/24" (I don't remember the exact height). a 48" x 24" x 24" is a 120 so a 48" x 24" x 30" would be a 150 I believe.

Well I just got the surprise of my life. The female jags I bought are actually a pair. I was skeptical anyway when they told me that they were females cause one was more vivid than the other. Anyway they had a small batch of fry I just noticed this morning in the cleared corner of the tank. Now I just need some insite on what size tank to move them into now that I know they are a pair. They are currently in a 90.

i think a long 120g (5ft) would be good for life for the pair by itself with maybe a couple silver dollars or something (125g would be better and of course you would have to go larger if aggression issues arose

CONGRATS on your pair!!

Where in GA are ya at?

Thanks for the help. I think ill go with the 120 for life for the pair.

go with the 125 gallon. its a foot longer and i believe 125 gallon are more common and less expesive then a 120.
