go to the amazon river and stick your face in the water :ROFL::ROFL:

And the not idiotic and retarded response would be to contact someone that imports fish from Peru and beg them to get a box...

Expect to buy a lot of them and sink some good money into it. If anyone is interested in splitting a box let me know as I will work that out with you. I'm personally always interested in bringing these fish in so will do so if I can get as many interested as possible on board to do so. I do not want "I might buy some" though...I need money up front and there will be no Guarantee on the fish or how they arrive. These fish are not normally imported and are specially collected on an as needed basis. If you really want them let me know and I can arrange something with those I know...

Really interesting fish. I want to know more

BTW....If you really want to talk with someone with a great deal of experience with these fish my ears are open and I'm willing to share.. I

So if your really not interested please do not post..This will allow for the few interested to actually get something out of this and learn something about these fish.

My apologies for derailing. And a special apology to polypterus for being rude.

I love the candiru, it is an amazing fish

Thank you and apology accepted....

AquariumPAEX has brought in the "Jaguar Candiru" (Trichomycterus sp.) and may be a source for them. I'm not aware of them bringing them into the US but once however...I deal with a different exporter and importer that seems more willing to bring these fish in if given assurance of sale...

Many states now outlaw the import of any candiru, when I kept a few (species unknown) I fed them mash eartworms and raw chicken liver.
