I've never owned any catfish before in all my years of fish keeping and today I was at the lfs and they had some jaguar cats.. All the other catfish get too big and might outgrow my dats faster and they might become food later on. The jaguar cats are going for $45.99 is this a good price? I can't find much info on them on here. Somebody give some input please.. :)

I only paid 26 for mine but it was a waste. I literally have never seen mine except tearing the tank apart to verify he isnt dead. You wont see him at all

U mean achara catfish? They get BIG and will outgrow ur tank

What size is your tank, I know what you mean about trying to find a good cat. They either stay small, get huge, or are hard to find. The jag cat def requires hiding to keep stress down... at least mine does

Mine did the same thing straight into a cave not to be seen again , untill I found him dead :'(

Don't think a jag cat would stand a chance without hides be too stressful for it , you'd be better off with something that comes out during daylight , my clarius was very active bit of a pain once he grew though , and my giraffe cat is also very active during all hours and has been since he was small (they do get big though)

If it's a 5x2x2, then it's likely a 150 gallon, or 150 wide (I've been looking everywhere for this size BTW). Also, given those dimensions, you could house a Lima catfish pretty easily, and those don't hide like the Jag does.
