Hey MFK

I recently got 2 big jaguar cichlids and I noticed they are not eating at all...

I do have some aggressive eaters in the tank such as snakehead, peacock bass arowana and a RTC

Could that be a problem? Or they still getting used to the tank

Hey Congrats on the new buy.
They look gorgeous.
Give them some time and they will settle down .
Also , from where did you pick these beauties from LFS or any known acquaintance?
If from any friends, pls chk with them on what did they feed and if from LFS , you can wait it out and get them adjusted to the food you are feeding to the rest in there.
Sometimes they take up to a week to settle down , but it is just a matter of time .

Jags of those size have no problems with not eating for 1 month, and not show any signs of thinning. Let them settle.

Agree with the others.
They were probably the alphas of the tank they were in, previously, and now they are not, which can be quite stressful for adult fish, so it will take time to adjust.
A month off food would not surprise me.

Thank you very much guys...I got them from a private seller...Was looking for big ones because nothing small lasts in my tank...

Previous owner says they were on pellets but I have tried that and shrimp but nothing...They don’t even swim towards the food

But I will wait it out and hope for the best

Then it is just the matter of adjusting to the new environment, very soon they will establish themselves in your tank .
Do you know if you have a male and female at hand ?
What size tank are they in ?

I’m not sure if it’s a male or female...They are in a 3 meter tank
