Jaguar cichlid mixed with african cichlid

THEY ARE NOT ADULTS YET BUT WHATS MORE CONFUSING IS THEY HAVENT TAGGED TEAMED THAT ZEBRA SINCE YOU SAID BABIES ARE PRESENT. WHY DO YOU HAVE A CENTRAL AMERICAN IN WITH AFRICANS ANYWAY? YOU MAY COME DOWN TO YOUR TANK ONE DAY TO FIND THE ZEBRA HAS BEEN KILLED OR EATEN. IM NOT TELLING YOU WHAT TO DO AS I GREW JAG UP IN A 125 WITH AFRICANS BUT HE QUICKLY OUTGREW THEM IN SIZE AND ATTITUDE. I HAD TO MOVE HIM @ 3" AS HE WAS HUNTING THE AFRICANS FOR FOOD.

thats not surprising...a jag at that size is not a full grown adult, the zebra on the other hand is most likely a more mature fish. Eventually the jags will be huge and it probably won't be an issue anymore, but zebras can be very aggressive, and since the jags are still small the zebra can still have its way

Does this mean I can put my juvenile 3" jag with the Malawi cichlids? I keep them in saperate tanks

Quite an old thread, usually I would start a new one for this question.
But to answer your question- could you put a 3" jag with some malawi cichlids? Maybe. You would be rolling the dice. Many variables such as tank size that will determine the answer, and it's impossible to give a definite answer with cichlids anyway. It may be fine, your malawians may kill your jag, or vice versa. Personally I would keep them separate if that's how you already have them, and not roll the dice.

Yup, thanks. That would be my better judgement too. Got a bit curious when I came across this post.
