jaguar cichlid not growing

I got my jaguar 3 months ago and he was in a 75 gallon then now in a 135 and I don't think he is growing much at all he's bigger then when I got him but it's 3 months and he's approximately 2 inches very small and I read a couple places that they grow fast

hmm, yeah thats kind of odd he/she hasn't grown in 3 months especially being that small. What are water parameters like? How many times a week are you doing a water change and what percent of the water? What are you feeding? and is it eating?

More than any other factor, water changes effect growth.
I would normally do 30% every other day, but compared to many pro breeders that is lazy.
I know of discus breeders that do 90% daily to speed up growth.

Yes water quality. At least make sure 50 percent a week or so. He will grow or starve. Give it time.

I do 50% every Friday and gravel vac the substrate while doing do I also feed them Hikari gold and brine shrimp

Well, if you provided a good diet and good water quality and it refuse to grow then it's just its genetic...like human lol you see some 6 foots tall and some refuse to grow more than 4 foots O.O nothing you can do about that hehehe

If everything you say is true... maybe its this.

He/she grew pretty much since I got it I ordered it online and it was like a half inch big now it's like 2 inches but every thing I've been reading says they grow an inch a month
