Jaguar cichlid Vs Channa Striata

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
put the jag in and take the channa out and put it in a different tank for a few days. THEN see what happens to the channa when you put him back in:D j/k

Like I mentioned before I'm in the process of seeing how compatible my snakehead is with other fish before it grows up.

I've tested it with a bunch of fish so far. It's killed a spotted gar, a hujeta, a convict, a texas cichlid, and attacked a larger oscar.

I heard jaguar cichlids were very aggressive and would stand up to anything so I bought one today to go with my channa.

My channa is 6 inches, and the jag is around 6 inches, maybe slightly less.

The jag went into the channas cave, and the channa did nothing. Just looked confused and turned around a few times looking at the jag.

Then when the jag left the cave the channa rushed out and chased it, bit it twice. The jag then hid behind a filter vertically and I thought it was dead, but it's still alive, I took it out and put it with my jardini and peacock bass.

It didn't stand a chance.

Next week I'm going to buy a 7 inch dovii I've seen and put that with my snakehead. I want to see if my snakehead is compatible with something that stands up to it, so far nothing has.

I think this is stupid to do...why post this on a fish forum where people love fish esp if you are doing this with Cichlids? Sounds pretty dumb ass to me.

How does this thread keep winding up on the first page? Isn't this thread like 30 years old? I don't even think the OP has been on MFK for awhile.
We should call this The Thread That Never DIES!!

Ok i'll tell you what get a 10 inch ( that's when they start showing their aggression ) wild caught dovii and throw him in. Simple.

i keep both dovii and snakeheads and my dwarf SH on intelligence alone outweighs that of the dovii.
